ZUMA Launches World's Greatest Movie Pictures Collection

San Clemente, CA - January 8, 2004 - ZUMA Press is proud to announce the online Movie Picture Show; it's the Web's largest digital online movie-stills collection, now available via ZUMApress.com. Featuring 100,000+ images of every major film from the creation of the first Edison movies at the turn of the century, through the golden age of the 1930s, up to and including the latest blockbusters. The collection is an invaluable source for picture researchers, photo editors and publishers alike.

This movie-stills collection rounds off our extensive archive of entertainment coverage and celebrity candids, making ZUMA a one-stop shop for everything available on a particular actor or film.

"Each awards season we are inundated with research requests for movie stills," says Camilla Zenz, research manager at ZUMA. "We've dedicated significant resources to researching, scanning and adding tens of thousands of movie stills to ZUMApress.com archives. Editorial clients can now access what they need, be it current or historic," Zenz says.

Easy Steps to Search for Movie Stills

  • Log on to ZUMApress.com.

  • In the pull-down menu under the search box, select the option movie still.

  • Type either the actor or name of the movie you are searching for, and voila!

Alternatively, clients can email Requests@ZUMApress.com for hard-to-find stars and material not yet available online. New images are being added daily.

Liberia Struggles with Scars of War

Les Stone's dispatch from the front lines in Liberia

Just months after the war ended in this country, there is ample evidence that people are trying to regain a sense of normality. Liberians now attend church, shop in the markets and try to pick up what's left of their jobs. The physical scars of the fighting are everywhere, from bullet-riddled walls and streets, to the children at play with plenty of guns still at their disposal.

The United Nations forces are in control of very little of the countryside, and even though Charles Taylor has left and there is a new president in his place, the situation is still precarious. In the countryside, whole families suffering from severe malnutrition are coming in to refugee camps where aid stations have been set up to feed and house them. They have been hiding from the fighting in the bush for many months.
