Launches New Cutting-Edge Photojournalism Magazine:
DOUBLEtruck
|
February 11, 2004 - San Clemente, CA
- As part of its continued efforts to promote and inspire outstanding
photojournalism, ZUMA Press has
released DOUBLEtruck Magazine, ZUMA's first self-published magazine dedicated
to the photojournalists that bring us bigger-than-life images. Concerned
photojournalism is not dead, and this magazine celebrates in-your-face
photography of important issues around the world in 60 pages of high impact photojournalism.
DOUBLEtruck is presented in two distinctive
sections. The first, appropriately titled the Year in DOUBLEtrucks, walks
readers through storytelling images of last year's major news events. All
the images presented in this section ran as double-page spreads in leading
weeklies around the world. The second section, Never Been Kissed,
celebrates the unseen--the best pictures of 2003 that were hot but haven't
run doubletruck yet.
"With hundreds of thousands of images
licensed worldwide and dozens more published as doubletrucks, 2003 was an
extraordinary year for ZUMA," said
Scott Mc Kiernan, director and founder of ZUMA Press.
"At the height of
magazine photojournalism, doubletrucks populated the media landscape.
Though more and more rare, having your picture published across two full
pages is still considered the ultimate coup in our industry. We thought it
only fitting to celebrate our photographers' success by showcasing their
strongest published and unpublished works in this format," he
said.
DOUBLEtruck will be published quarterly during its
first year and monthly the year after. ZUMA is looking for one or two great corporate
sponsors to keep it ad free or limited to only one or two
ads.

reaches your mailbox, visit DOUBLEtruckMAGAZINE.com.

Ireland: Standing Stones to Stormont,
written and photographed by ZUMA Press

explores Irish identity and how the Irish understand their relationship
with a landscape shaped by an ancient, active past. The book takes the
reader back more than 5,000 years and shows how directly the names of
places are associated with ancient legend and myth.
ZUMA Press proudly represents images from
Standing Stones and Kumpf's previous books including Children
of Belfast.
