ZUMA on
the Deadly Front Lines of Haiti & Iraq
|
Award-winning ZUMA photojournalist LES STONE gave us the first images of the Haitians in Port-au-Prince celebrating the "resignation" of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who went into exile early Sunday. Les photographed the bloody streets of the capitol as FRAPH leader LOUIS-JODEL CHAMBLAIN arrived with his rebel followers. Although Aristide's exile helped quell a bloody civil war, tensions still run high. President Bush announced that U.S. Marines would form the first part of a multinational force, which arrived later Sunday.

ZUMA photojournalist ROBERT KING was on the scene after six bombs exploded inside the holy city killing more than 100 and wounding hundreds. The explosions occurred on the holiest day for Shiite Muslims--the day when Imam al-Hussein, grandson of Prophet Mohammed, was killed in Karbala in 680 AD.
ZUMA's Nancy Kaszerman Covers What Counts
|
From leading magazines to mega booksellers to larger-than-life billboards, Nancy Kaszerman's work dominates and transcends the traditional, editorial marketplace.
"Nancy follows her varied interests and is likely to cover a political rally, book signing, fashion show and music event the same week," says Trish Murphy, ZUMA's vice president of sales. "Her energy, enthusiasm and consistent delivery of quality work is what editors and image buyers count on and what makes her one of ZUMA's top shooters."
Last week, People Weekly chose Kaszerman¹s portrait of SARAH JESSICA PARKER for its cover, which marks the second People cover of the actress by Kaszerman. Back in October of 2002, People's cover was an exclusive for their issue on Parker and the birth of her baby boy with Matthew Broderick.
Kaszerman's work made a crossover from editorial to corporate recently when Goen Group licensed Kaszerman's photo of Anna Nicole Smith to promote its TrimSpa product line. Kaszerman photographed Smith at Lane Bryant's Fashion Show in 2002. Goen Group and Anna Nicole Smith chose that image for its dramatic "before" picture to highlight Smith's amazing TrimSpa-assisted weight loss. Goen Group's national ad campaign launched in January and included a billboard in Los Angeles.
It was Kaszerman's image of conservative talk-show host Bill O'Reilly that appeared on the cover of Al Franken's successful book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. Franken's book was published by Penguin Putnam last year and caused quite a stir.
