ZUMA Press Signs Award-Winner AARON LEE FINEMAN

May 26, 2004 - San Clemente, CA - ZUMA Press is proud to add award-winning photojournalist AARON LEE FINEMAN to its roster of outstanding talent. Fineman joins ZUMA's assignment team after a decade of nearly daily freelance work for the New York Times, where he covered NYC-area hard news and features for the prestigious Gotham daily as a freelancer.

Fineman is the recipient of numerous industry awards but is best known for his coverage of 9-11 that contributed to the Times' 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in Journalism.

Fineman's work is featured in a number of books, including Portraits: 9/11/01: The Collected "Portraits of Grief" from The New York Times. Over the years, his images have also graced the pages of leading media outlets such as Newsweek, TIME Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Mother Jones, Paper Magazine, Forbes, American Photo and Die Zeit.

"Aaron's young and ready for action, yet a seasoned pro," says Scott Mc Kiernan, director and founder of ZUMA Press. "He can capture the uninhibited spirit of an underground rave and turn around and cover breaking apocalyptic news with the best of them. We are very proud to have him join us and look forward to representing his work for years to come."

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Fineman is currently working on a long-term project documenting American youth culture and has plans to expand the series and go global. To view more of his work, click here. To book Fineman for an assignment, please contact Trish Murphy at 949.494.7704.
