High-Impact Photojournalism Lives On! |
 |
September 1, 2004 - San Clemente, CA - For a double dose of high-impact photojournalism, check out the recently released double issue of ZUMA's DOUBLEtruck
Magazine!
The double issue (issue two and three) features even more cutting-edge images printed across two pages than our premier issue. Though conflict and war certainly
dominated the news in the second and third quarters of 2004, we also showcase a variety of poignant human interest, sports, religious and political images.
DOUBLEtruck will make its debut this week at the prestigious 16th International Festival of Photojournalism, Visa pour l'Image, Perpignan (France).
"Visa pour l'Image is the most influential photojournalism conference in the Industry," says Scott Mc Kiernan. "Many of the photographers whose work appears in our double
issue have exhibited at this festival in the past, which is a testament to the caliber of work showcased in our magazine."
DOUBLEtruck is a self-published magazine, created as part of ZUMA's ongoing effort to promote and inspire award-winning
photojournalism. Corporate sponsorship of this media venture is still sought. For more information, please call DOUBLEtruck Publisher
Scott Mc Kiernan at 949.494.7704.

ZUMA Exclusive U.S. Agent for Top British Dailies

Today ZUMA Press announced exclusive representation of the multi-award-winning
newspapers the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and the London Evening Standard. These titles are part of Associated Newspapers, the U.K.'s largest
newspaper group. ZUMA now syndicates the daily picture production of these leading titles. In the weeks ahead,
ZUMA will also incorporate their photo archives into ZUMApress.com
and make the content available to editorial clients.
Today's deal follows many other similar and very successful relationships ZUMA has forged with leading newspapers across the
continent, including the San Antonio Express-News, the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Sacramento Bee the Toronto Star, among others.
Founded in 1896, the Daily Mail dominates the U.K.'s middle newspapers with more than six million readers. The Mail on Sunday is known for its unmatched
investigative journalism. Founded in 1982, the Mail on Sunday leads the mid-market Sunday papers with a circulation of more than 2.4 million. As London's only
evening newspaper, the Evening Standard (circulation 400,000) sets the agenda for the following day's national news with a mixture of eye-catching news,
features and entertainment coverage.
"Today's deal is a major coup for ZUMA," says Scott Mc Kiernan, director and founder of ZUMA Press.
"By working with us, our newspaper partners are broadening the exposure and reach of their content while generating significant new revenue growth. I look forward
to replicating our model for success with Associated Newspapers and other overseas partners," he says.
The arrangement to represent these prestigious publications of the Associated Newspaper group was done through Solo Syndication Ltd.
It's a Party

The Republican National Convention is in full swing. The mood seems festive on both sides of the Gardens as Republican delegates cheer on their men and 100,000+
protestors gather outside. With news feeds coming in from almost a dozen sources, including ZUMA shooters LES STONE, NANCY KASZERMAN,
JAMES BERGLIE, SETH COHEN, AARON LEE FINEMAN, MIKE FOX, MELISSA JONES, NANCY STROGOFF and JIM WEST (to name a few), as well as coverage from the dailies we represent,
Sacramento Bee, San Antonio Express-News, Palm Beach Post and more, ZUMA is your one-stop shop for all the

Obesity: American Childhood Tragedy
Americans are trying everything to get their overweight kids in shape. At summer weight loss camps like Camp Kingsmont, kids are removed from all the
elements that made them obese to begin with: junk food, video games, television and their couch. Forced to exercise and eat better, they can't help but
lose weight. Despite rising enrollment at these camps, the percentage of overweight American youths has doubled since the early 1970s. In fact,
15% are now obese. To view more, click here.
