O Canada! Fifth Year Anniversary!
April 05, 2007 - Toronto, CANADA - O Canada! Fifth Year Anniversary!
The Toronto Star is the paper of record for Canada. When not making exclusive images of major events in Canada and abroad, such as the Pulitzer Prize winning Black Hawk Down images by Paul Watson, they have their fingers on the pulse of Toronto and the world. "Who can forget the surreal image of the blazing Air France plane after it careened off the end of the runway in the summer of 2005, or the amazingly powerful reportage essay 'Dominican Field of Dreams' by Peter Power. I am very proud to celebrate 5 years of representing such a super paper. Happy anniversary, Toronto Star!" Scott Mc Kiernan, Director of ZUMA Press.
The Star is a Canadian gem. Founded in 1892, it has the largest readership in the country and a staff of photographers that deliver. Movie festivals, sports, music, celebrity portraiture and features, the Star is a star!
"Toronto Star began providing images to ZUMA Press when Toronto hosted World Youth Days in 2002," said Claire Wollen, manager, Torstar Syndication Services. "Since that summer, our partnership with ZUMA Press has grown considerably, and as a result, Toronto Star images and photographers have been exposed to and appreciated by thousands of readers around the world, through publications including TIME Magazine, Newsweek, Stern Magazine and Paris Match. Our relationship with ZUMA Press also enables us to very quickly and efficiently offer exclusive or "hot" photos--including recent photos from Guantanamo Bay and photos from the Air France airplane crash in Toronto in August of 2005--to image buyers from around the world. ZUMA Press is without doubt our most valuable external partner for the sale and distribution of Toronto Star photos."
