May 31, 2007 - LONDON, UK - Cheers to ZUMA Press photographer, Guy Martin who just moved to London and won a major award at same time. The Magenta Foundation has named him one of the top 25 'Emerging Talents' in photography for 2007. To be followed by a book and exhibitions in the UK, US, and Canada.

"It's great to be associated with the award and to be alongside some great photographers," stated Martin. "The move to London took a big chunk of our time and a little time to adjust, but we've been here a couple of months now and I feel settled. I've have had a couple of commissions from the Sunday Times Magazine and working on some of my own work, as well as making the transition to digital."

Awards aside, Martin is planning on returning to Russia to continue to explore on a more personal level and deeper level some of the Cossack people and characters involved in the resurgence of Cossack culture. ZUMA founder Scott Mc Kiernan mused "Proud to represent Guy Martin, he has a wonderful style, equally at ease with the darkness of Sudan and the wild energy of the Cossacks. Cossacks Born Again was a fantastic story and can not wait for his next reportage. One thing is for sure it will hold your eye and heart."

May 30 - June 2, 2007 - National Press Photographers Association's Photojournalism Summit -The Photojournalism Summit offers an outstanding line-up including ZUMA's own Sacramento Bee Staffer Renée C. Byer, Pulitzer Prize winner 2007 for "A Mother's Journey", Carolyn Cole (Los Angeles Times, and Mary Calvert (Washington Times), to name a few. They will be offering their expertise on still photography, television photography, and multimedia.
The Photojournalism Summit on June 1 through June 2 will include workshops in Still Photography, Multimedia, and Television Photography and is open to everyone.

June 04, 2007 - 6 PM - BOOK SIGNING - Photography exhibit and book-signing of 'Core Memory' : A Visual Survey of Vintage Computers Featuring Machines from the Computer History Museum with photographer Mark Richards and author John Alderman.

June 7, 2007 - 5-9 PM - SHOW OPENING - Photography exhibit by Cheryl Hatch at Pearl Audio and Video in the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. Showing work from the Middle East and Africa, including photogarphs from her project on Eritrean women that was featured in the Lecia 2006 calendar and exhibited at the Lecia gallery in Solms, Germany.
