Petre BuzoianuFebruary 23, 2005 - San Clemente, CA - ZUMA Press mourns the loss of fashion photography legend PETRE BUZOIANU (52), who passed away in Milan on Sunday in between fashion week events.

Represented worldwide by ZUMA Press and Keystone in Canada, Buzoianu's elegant images graced the pages of the hottest style magazines including Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour and GQ, among others.

Relief at H.O.M.E. - JONATHAN ALCORN/ZUMA Press
Helping Our Mobile Elderly (H.O.M.E.) is a model of success at providing a supportive residential care for women with memory loss due to Alzheimer's disease and other brain disorders. The non-profit located in Venice, California offers life-enhancing care with minimal physical or chemical restraints and few acute hospitalizations.

Drama on the Front - NIKOS PILOS/ZUMA Press
Just in from the front lines is an off beat feature shot on the set of Iraq's most popular TV soap opera: Love and War. Set in post-war Baghdad, the drama is based loosely on current events, complete with raids on houses by American troops, kidnappings, arrests and of course love triangles. Ironically, daily production of the soap opera is regularly interrupted by such real-life drama. Actors and film crew are terrorized by the ever-present threat of suicide and car bombings, and challenges like fuel shortages and roadblocks often prevent filming.

Bear Rescue - RICHARD SOBOL/ZUMA Press
Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) and the Chinese government are making breakthroughs in stemming the practice of bile harvesting from living bears. In a recent rescue operation, AAF took in 45 Chinese moon bears that were exploited from what they describe as barbaric treatment. With the help of volunteer veterinarians and celebrity activists like "the Madonna of Asia," Karen Mok Man Wai, the bears begin their slow rehabilitation.

After a long, forced absence from reporting, ZUMA's local Nepali photojournalist, MUKUNDA BOGATI, was finally able to submit coverage of angry protests in the streets of Kathmandu.
