ZUMA Scores Walton and Shark Exclusives!![]() June 29, 2005 -When breaking news happens, newspapers across the country turn to ZUMA Press to syndicate their pictures to media worldwide. This week, ZUMA proudly represents two news exclusives from papers at opposite ends of the country. In Wyoming, Jackson Hole Guide & News photographer Bradly J. Boner was the first to photograph the scene of billionaire Wal-Mart heir John T. Walton's fatal plane wreck. Walton, the second son of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and a member of the company's board, was piloting the experimental ultra-light aircraft when it crashed shortly after take-off. Boner arrived to find park rangers and fire officials investigating the debris-strewn fields just north of Jackson Hole airport. ZUMA Press represents this Jackson Hole Guide & News coverage exclusively worldwide. For licensing information, please contact Ian Kimbrey at 310.629.2825. In Florida, Terry Barner of The News Herald was on hand as Craig Adam Hutto (16) was rushed to emergency care after a shark attacked him while he was fishing in waist deep waters off Cape San Blas. Only two days earlier, a six foot bull shark attacked and killed 14-year-old Jaime Daigle at Miramar Beach, about 95 miles northwest of Cape San Blas. To license the News Herald coverage, please contact ZUMA's Miami Bureau Chief, Ray Fairall at 561.392.7856. zNewsShow Your Pride!Thousands filled the streets across the continent last week to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Gay Pride Week. The festival commemorates the Stonewall uprising of 1969--a series of fights between gays and police in New York. The parades began the following year, honoring the diverse sexual identities of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transsexual communities with performers in extravagant costumes. Gay pride supporters as well as angry protestors turned out for the event. Tsunami Survivors - Six Months Later Little by little, Thailand is recovering from the tsunami that wreaked havoc on the country and its people last December. ZUMA photographer Steve Sandford visited the hard-hit fishing village of Ban Nam Khem where the American Refugee Committee (ARC) is helping locals to rebuild their fishing boats in an effort to reestablish their self-sufficiency and livelihood. The ARC also provides health care, clean water, shelter repair, legal aid, and trauma counseling. zFeaturesWhen You Log Off, Who Cleans Up? - by Natalie Behring/TCS/ZUMA Press What happens to old computers and other electronic equipment when we are finished with them? While we're busy upgrading, the leftovers might very well end up in Guiyu, China where the unregulated recycling of electronic waste has created an apocalyptic landscape and filthy water. The scrap here is from household names like HP, Dell, Compaq, IBM, Apple and Motorola; the victims are the children like those at the local kindergarten whose blood lead levels are way past safe limits.
