Terror Has No BoundariesJuly 12, 2005 - ZUMA's round-the-clock picture desk acted fast upon news of the terror attacks on London's transit system. As the agent for Solo, the syndication arm of London's Evening Standard and Daily Mail newspapers, ZUMA was among the first to get compelling coverage of the bombings across its wires. Ongoing coverage of the aftermath continues to pour in from contributors including Axel, eyevine, MAXppp and UPPA, among others, and is available for immediate syndication. For a concise edit of the best of ZUMA's coverage of the London attacks, including a portrait of the missing American, Michael Matsushita, search for the keyword zclondon772005 on ZUMApress.com. The attack sites are very reminiscent of ground zero, with makeshift memorials in the streets and sobering portraits of the missing posted for passers to see. With security tightened everywhere from the U.S. to France, the impact of the blasts were felt around the world. zNewsMenacing Dennis Although not as fierce as Ivan, Hurricane Dennis still caused a considerable amount of damage--enough to threaten the livelihood of Florida's residents. The unyielding 120-mph winds tattered rooftops, tore down piers, destroyed roads and even killed a handful of people. Kudos to the Palm Beach Post and San Antonio Express-News for doing an awesome job covering the Dennis' path of destruction. zEntertainmentSweet Evening Excitement filled the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in anticipation of Tim Burton's adaptation of the classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Celebrities, young and old, brought their loved ones to the world premiere of the film. Check out stars like, Johnny Depp, Melanie Griffith, and a full-figured Britney Spears as they walk the red carpet by clicking here to view more from the world premiere. zFeaturesPeasantry in China's Guizhou ProvinceIn China's countryside, the rough, scarred hands of the peasants say it all. From early childhood until old age, they work the fields and retirement is never an option. Walk through a typical day with these villagers who, throughout their lives, know of nothing but hard work. These holy animals, revered by Hindus, are tamed and then used in the timber business to transport wood. To move between the islands the elephants swim! The spectacle has become quite a tourist attraction. The beloved elephants seem to have it easier than the natives; workdays end at 3 p.m., they have Sundays off, and at the age of 60 the elephants retire from work and are released back into the wild. ZUMA photographer Olivier Blaise captured a typical workday of the elephants on the Andaman Islands. zSportsWay Over the Wall!Danny Way, a champion skateboarder who has set and broken six world records, has set yet another. He was the first to jump Beijing's Great Wall of China with just his skateboard--not only once, but five times! In 2002, a mountain biker attempted the jump but was killed. Way, of Carlsbad, California, wowed spectators as he caught speeds of over 50 miles per hour, still managing to add on 360-degree spins. Click to view the extreme skater and the biggest skateboarding structure ever built. When Push Comes to Shove Two weeks ago, Kenny Rogers, the star pitcher of the Texas Rangers, shoved two photographers and threw down a camera, resulting in a 20-game suspension and a $50,000 fine. But luckily for him, Rogers' appeal to the penalties won't be heard until after he pitches in today's All-Star Game. For pictures of the ace in action, click here. zReportage Update
