World Premiere of ZUMA Press Exhibition Reagan's Shadow
February 22, 2006 - Tomorrow marks the world premiere of Reagan's Shadow, a ZUMA Press photographic exhibit shot by former President Ronald Wilson Reagan's personal photographer, the late Michael A.W. Evans.
Reagan's Shadow provides an insider's look at both the public and private lives of Reagan prior to and during his first term in Office. With unfettered access, Evans gives insight to the man who was a popular president, an esteemed diplomat and above all, a loving husband.
Included in the collection are both historic and personal moments photographed on Reagan's ranch in California, at the White House and on numerous state visits abroad.
The Palm Beach Photographic Centre is the first venue to host Reagan's Shadow. The legendary editor, Arnold Drapkin, will be the master of ceremonies at tomorrow's opening event. Drapkin was the Director of Photography at TIME Magazine when he put Evans on contract to cover Reagan during his first presidential bid. Many of Evans' most iconic portraits of the former president were taken during those weeks.
Drapkin will introduce Evans' agent, colleague and friend, Scott Mc Kiernan, who will deliver a special presentation about Evans' legacy above and beyond the unforgettable work he did with Reagan.
Readers interested in learning more about Evans are encouraged to click here to read Tribute to Michael A. W. Evans, a memoir written by Mc Kiernan and published in DigitalJournalist.org.
