ZUMA Exclusive: Girl Back From the Dead

Nine weeks after hundreds of mourners attended her funeral, Whitney Cerak checks her text messages and chats with her boyfriend during an outing on a hot summer's evening.

These is the first photographs of Whitney Cerak since the horrific motorway accident in which the Indiana State university student was believed to have died in a case of mistaken identity.

Though she must still use a wheelchair while her shattered left ankle heals, Whitney has been discharged from hospital and has begun to attend a rehabilitation centre for five days a week for physiotherapy. Altogether, Cerak says, "I am a very happy girl."



Syd Barrett

Legend Lost

Musician Syd Barrett, one of the original members of legendary rock group Pink Floyd, has died at the age of 60. He was born Roger Barrett in Cambridge and met future band mates Roger Waters and David Gilmour at school there. The guitarist joined Pink Floyd in 1965 but left three years later when mental state affected became affected by drugs. Click here to view more.
